The ongoing season of the Italian Women’s Volleyball Championship has been suspended for the second time in the last two weeks.

The President of the Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile, Mauro Fabris, announced the suspension of the regular season starting from today, March 8, until further notice. The reason is, of course, the coronavirus outbreak that severely struck Italy, more specifically the north if the country.

Recall that the Italian Women’s Championship has already been suspended once, a two weeks ago, and resumed yesterday when the leaders Imoco Volley Conegliano swept Banca Valsabbina Millenium Brescia (3-0) behind the closed doors and recorded the 18th win in a row overall, 10th in a row in Serie A. This means that neither of the encounters scheduled for today (Round 23) won’t take place.

Interestingly, the men’s championship wasn’t suspended again.
