After being re-elected, the President of the All-Russian Volleyball Federation (VFV) Stanislav Shevchenko said that the men’s national team will compete in 2021 under the command of the same coach. Volleyball fans in Russia were assured by the head of the national federation that ‘Zbornaya’ will play in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics with Tuomas Sammelvuo at the helm even though the contract of the Finnish expert with VFV is about to expire.
“It (contract) will end on December 31st. Who knew there would be a pandemic? We will talk with him about renewal. We think that Tuomas has great potential and it’s a mere technicality. He’ll take the team to Tokyo,” Shevchenko stated for Sport Ekspress.
