Maksim Mikhaylov and Artem Volvich, both ’Zbornaya’ members, have renewed their contracts with Zenit-Kazan.
The Russian men’s volleyball giants put an end to speculations regarding Mikhaylov’s departure from the club (allegedly to Italy) and bound him for 2021/22. Thus, a 32-year-old opposite hitter will continue his career in the club for which he has been competing for more than a decade, more precisely since 2010, and has played 501 matches. As part of Zenit, Mikhaylov won the CEV Champions League 5 times, FIVB Club World Championship 1 time, Russian Championship 7 times, national Cup 6 times, and national Super Cup 8 times.
In addition to the ’Mad Max’, Zenit secured a signature to the new contract with the starting middle blocker Volvich, too. A 31-year-old giant (2.12m) has been playing for the Kazan club since the 2016/17 season. He helped Zenit win the CEV Champions League 3 times, FIVB Club World Championship 1 time, Russian Championship 2 times, Russian Cup 4 times, and Russian Super Cup 4 times.
