RUS M: Lokomotiv earn hard-fought win in Surgut and approach leaders Zenit-Kazan by just one point

Lokomotiv earned themselves a 4-set victory against Gazprom-Yugra in Round 14 of the 2021/22 Russian Men’s Volleyball Championship and kept breathing down the neck of the leaders Zenit-Kazan.

In the little Siberian derby valid for Round 14 of the 2021/22 Men’s Superliga Parimatch, Lokomotiv beat the home side of Gazprom-Yugra with a score of 3-1. This was the fifth successive triumph for the Novosibirsk side in the competition by which they approached leaders Zenit-Kazan on the table by just one point. The top scorer for Lokomotiv was Sergey Savin (16 points). Roman Martynyuk made 79% reception (19 digs, 47% excellent).

In a duel of the two sides positioned next to each other in the standings, the fifth-placed Dinamo-LO broke a 7-game victorious streak in all competitions of sixth-placed Kuzbass.
