Dinamo Moscow still rule Russia. The team from the country’s capital prevailed over Lokomotiv in a single-match final of the 2021/22 Men’s Superliga Paribet (Суперлига Парибет Мужчины), who this season introduced Final Six as the last stage of the competition, in Kazan in 5 sets. The fate of all sets, with the exception of the last one, was resolved at the very finish. In the tie-break, however, Dinamo exploited numerous errors of the Novosibirsk side, to reach 5-1, soon 8-3, and put an end to the season in Russia.

The contribution of Yaroslav Podlesnykh was of the essence for the win of the Muscovites. He was his team’s top scorer with 19 points, including 4 aces. Serbian Dražen Luburić tallied 26 points (5 aces) for Lokomotiv, who surprisingly eliminated the hosts Zenit-Kazan in the semis. The Dinamo setter Pavel Pankov was awarded as the MVP of the finals. His team won the 4th championship title in the post-Soviet era, the 9th including the league of the former state.
