Russia coach Yury Marichev:

„In the first and second sets, China exploited our weak point, which was reception, and without reception, we can’t play. But in the third, fourth and fifth sets we improved our reception and we have tall, strong spikers and the improved reception allowed them to hit.“

Russia captain Ekaterina Kosianenko:

“I would like to say thank you to all our players and our coaches. Today was a very difficult match, but we were able to win. We need to work a lot on all the parts of our game to improve.“

China coach Lang Ping:

“Congratulations to Russia. For the first two sets my impression was that Russia couldn’t get into any rhythm, but after that the match was really close. Russia’s blocks and attacks and receiving were amazing. We had our chances but we couldn’t take advantage of them unfortunately. This tournament was very good experience for our young players; they did their best.“

China captain Zeng Chunlei:

“Congratulations to Russia. Today’s match was very close and it was a good experience for us, but unfortunately we weren’t able to make the crucial points.“
