Coach Vadim Pankov gave a list of 26 players but on May 5 the list should be reduced to 21 players. In this new list, there is no Lyubov Sokolova Shashkova who was called to be the libero. The experienced player obviously refused the invitation.

It’s no surprise that Sokolova denied to comeback to the Russian NT. It is time for new blood, they are facing the same thing as Italy face few years ago. With Veterans phasing out of the national team, there are not enough young players replacing the veterans. As Paul Sunderland once said, you just can’t keep calling Gamova back to the national team, you have move forward from that era. One more thing, fix serve reception will be the way to go about the issue. FIX IT
