Before the last day of the Grand Prix 2015 First Stage we knew 5 out of 6 participants of the final tournament. USA, as the host, then Brazil, China, Italy and Russia have all secured tickets to Omaha, where the F6 will take place from July 22 to July 26. The only question was – Would the last remaining ticket go to Japan or Serbia?
Japan did their part of the job and triumphed over Thailand in straight sets, so the crucial game was between Germany and Serbia. Girls led by Zoran Terzić needed a win to jump over Japan on the standings and to advance to the F6, while the game itself was not of importance for Germany…
But, Germany played with full power and defeated Serbia in four sets 3-1 (23:25, 25:18, 25:22, 25:22). That result meant only one thing – Serbia was out of the competition, while Japan qualified for the Grand Prix 2015 final tournament as the sixth placed team on the standings!
