One of her serves in the straight-set victory over Italy clocked at 99KPH! Others above the 90-mark on the opening day of the women’s Olympic tournament were Paola Egonu of Italy in the same match (93 kph) and USA’s Foluke Akinradewo at 92 kph vs. Puerto Rico.

There will be more opportunities for Brankica Mihajlovic to break this record in the upcoming games…

But, this is not only record in volleyball at the Olympic Games. Ekaterina Kosiananeko has also set new Olympic record for number of aces in one match.
