Eczacibasi
Eczacıbaşı took over the provisional lead of the 2019/20 Vestel Venus Sultanlar Ligi regular season after coming back from 0-1 in the sets against Nilüfer: 3-1 (26-28, 25-18, 25-18, 25-16). Serbian Tijana Bošković made sure that visitors won’t stun her team by pouring in 23 points. Belgian Hélène Rousseaux and American Sherridan Atkinson top-scored for the losing side with 20 points apiece. The team from Istanbul will be deprived of help from their captain Kim Yeon-Koung for a while.
Just like Eczacıbaşı, the 4th placed Galatasaray HDI Sigorta also dropped a set: 3-1 vs. Karayolları. Beylikdüzü Voleybol İhtisas were truly humiliated by Aydın Büyükşehir Belediyesi who allowed them to take only 4 points in one of the sets, 26 in total. Recall that Beylikdüzü withdrew from the 2020 CEV Challenge Cup due to financial reasons.
