The newcomers in the Turkish men’s volleyball Championship, Haliliye Belediye, strengthened their roster with three Cuban players of which one is the national team member of this Caribbean country.

Haliliye, who were leaders of one of the Turkish second division play-off groups last season at the moment of the season cancelation due to the coronavirus, were awarded a spot in the top division. Right after learning that, a club from the south of the country started composing a respectable roster.

After hiring several domestic players, Haliliye brought in three foreigners, all three of Cuban nationality. The only national team player (a starter) of this Caribbean country from the trio is Adrián Goide. Last season, a 22-year-old setter didn’t compete on a club level, and from January he didn’t play at all due to shoulder injury which he sustained in the NORCECA Olympic Qualifier.

The remained two Cubans that came to the Efeler Ligi newcomers are a 25-year-old opposite hitter Yordan Bisset (Narbonne, France) and a 29-year-old outside hitter Yosvany Hernández (Cheonan Hyundai Capital Skywalkers, South Korea).
