Valladolid will host the 20th edition of the International Volleyball Coaching Congress from June 7 to 9. This important event on the calendar for coaches worldwide returns in 2024 after the successful edition of the previous year, marking the return of the activity post-pandemic. Mark Lebedew will be one of the speakers at the Congress alongside Davide Mazzanti, Ferhat Akbas, and Guillermo Falasca.
The RFEVB (Royal Spanish Volleyball Federation) announces a new edition of the International Volleyball Coaching Congress, one of the main training activities in Spain with significant impact on continental and global volleyball. The activity will begin on the afternoon of Friday, June 7, and will continue until Sunday, June 9, when the event will conclude.
The International Volleyball Coaching Congress will feature an exceptional lineup of speakers, including Australian coach Mark Lebedew, Italian Davide Mazzanti, Turkish expert Ferhat Akbas, and Spaniard Guillermo Falasca.
Australian coach Mark Lebedew has a long history on the continental benches. Until the end of 2023/2024 season he was at the helm of the historic VFB Friedrichshafen. Mark won the German Cup several times, in addition to several Bundesliga titles with Berlin Recycling Volleys.
Davide Mazzanti has an extensive record filled with accolades. With the Italian national team, he won the European Championship in 2021 and the VNL in 2022, as well as silver and bronze medals in the recent World Championships. As a club coach, Mazzanti has won the Scudetto with three different teams and currently coaches Itas Trentino.
Turkish coach Ferhat Akbas has led the national teams of Turkey and Croatia, and last year he won the Club World Championship with his current team, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit. He also won the CEV Cup with the Turkish team in 2021. Previously, Akbas won the Polish and Romanian leagues.
Completing the lineup of speakers is Guillermo Falasca. The Spaniard has achieved success with teams in Spain, France, and Italy, his current destination. In Narbonne, he won the Challenge Cup in 2022, and he has reached the league semifinals both in the French League and during his tenure with Feel Alcobendas.
