The return match is scheduled for this Thursday, February 9, at “Sarhadchi Sports and Olympic Center” in Baku.
Rabita was sidelined in Sopot by the absence of libero Silvija Popovic who got injured right before traveling to Poland. After an adventurous trip back to Azerbaijan due to the bad weather that is affecting mostly Eastern Europe, the players resumed training in Baku under the guidance of their legendary mentor Zoran Gajic. Rabita wants to take advantage from playing at home to score a win and take also the golden set that would eventually determine the name of the team advancing to the 1/4 finals.
“We did not play our best in Poland and we certainly shall deliver a classy performance for the joy of our home fans” says Gajic. “Atom Trefl is a strong opponent and we expect quite a tough match also here in Baku. We have to show off our great individual skills as well as good team work” he adds. Serbian Mira Golubovic top scored for Rabita last week in Sopot: “We will do our utmost to play our best Volleyball after we did not achieve this goal last week there in Poland. We want to make our fans happy and proud of our performance. I think this clash is one of the most interesting in this stage of the competition” she singles out.
