The Italians are enjoying a great campaign in the national league having scored six consecutive wins, the last one over Scavolini PESARO.
“We did never have such a great start in the national league but we cannot say the same for the European Cups. Last week, as we played RC CANNES, we delivered a good performance but we also showed some technical deficiencies. We especially lacked consistency in reception and our setter, Lindsay Berg, was not able to master our attackers in the best way” says local head coach Marcello Abbondanza.
“We showed our fighting spirit as we won the third set so this time I am sure we will play a good match and our fans will help us as usual. Since our group is really tough this match may already have an influence on the final standings. Last week SCHWERINER SC was able to put Eczacibasi under pressure so we have to stay focused if we want to claim our first win in the Champions League” he continues.
VILLA CORTESE has never lost a home match in this competition and hence hopes to stretch that good tradition also on Tuesday evening.
