Poitiers gained one of the biggest world volleyball prospects at the moment, Micah Ma’a. A 22-year-old American player, currently competing in the 2019 FIVB Nations League with his country’s national team, has chosen the French Championship side to be the first club in his professional career. Ma’a, who can cover two positions that have nothing in common – setter’s and outside hitter’s – competed in the NCAA for the UCLA Bruins, a team at whose helm is the USA Men head coach John Speraw.
Earlier, Poitiers signed outside hitters – Florian Lacassie (SWD Powervolleys Düren, Germany) and Brazilian Chizoba Neves Atu (Pärnu VK, Estonia), and middle blockers – Iranian Ali Shafiei (Saipa Tehran, Iran) and Brazilian Gladstone Magalhães (G.A.S. Pamvochaikos, Greece).
