International Volleyball Hall of Fame Announces 2024 Nominees for Induction

The International Volleyball Hall of Fame, renowned for celebrating and acknowledging the sport’s global icons, has unveiled its list of nominees for the 2024 induction. As one of the few entities that honor the achievements and preserve the history of volleyball’s greats, the Hall of Fame invites enthusiasts to participate in this year’s nomination voting.

This initiative is part of the organization’s mission to not only commemorate the legendary careers of volleyball’s finest but also to inspire future generations. Recognizing the importance of showcasing these stories of dedication, integrity, and grace, the Hall of Fame emphasizes the sport’s potential to inspire athletes worldwide, from current players aiming for greatness to young children just discovering volleyball.

The 2024 nominees span a broad spectrum of volleyball excellence, including indoor female and male players, beach volleyball players, coaches, leaders, and a paravolley athlete.

Notable nominations include:

  • Indoor Female Players: Regla Bell (Cuba), Kumi Nakada (Japan), Barbara Jelic-Ruzic (Croatia), Zhang Rongfang (China), and Manuela Benelli (Italy).
  • Indoor Male Players: Ivan Miljkovic (Serbia), Andrea Zorzi (Italy), Dimitar Karov (Bulgaria), Philippe Blain (France), and Raul Quiroga (Argentina).
  • Beach Players: Ana Paula Henkel (Brazil), Adriana Samuel (Brazil), Elaine Youngs (USA), Julius Brink & Jonas Reckermann (Germany), and Tim Hovland (USA).
  • Coaches: Aleksander Skiba (Poland), Kare Mol (Norway), Jose “Ze Roberto” Guimaraes (Brazil), and Gilberto Herrera (Cuba).
  • Leaders: Barry Couzner (Australia), Kainu Mikkola (Finland), and Giuseppe Panini (Italy).
  • Paravolley: Hadi Rezaei (Iran).
