Dutch middle blocker Indy Baijens, 23, has joined Il Bisonte Firenze after parting ways with Savino Del Bene Scandicci, where she played earlier this season. Baijens fills the slot left by Giulia Mancini (who took the reverse path and is now a member of Savino Del Bene Scandicci), bringing top-level experience to the Il Bisonte Firenze squad. She adds power and quality to Firenze’s lineup alongside Božana Butigan and Nausica Acciarri.
Baijens, a bronze medalist at the 2023 European Championships, has previously played in France, Poland, Germany, and Italy, earning accolades such as Best Blocker in the 2022/23 CEV Cup.
Baijens expressed excitement: “I hope we can have a great second half of the season. My first impressions are very positive, and I feel great energy here.”
