After weeks of speculation surrounding the departure of women’s volleyball team head coach Guillermo Naranjo, Galatasaray has officially announced his replacement—and it’s a surprise. Italian coach Alberto Bigarelli, relatively new to coaching at this level, will take the helm.
Bigarelli’s résumé includes a brief stint with Volley Bergamo 1991, where he fought to keep the team in Serie A1, and a recent role with CSM București in Romania. While the move has raised eyebrows in the volleyball world, fans are eager to see how the young coach will rise to the challenge.
Meanwhile, Galatasaray’s newest signing, volleyball star Ivan Zaytsev, hit the court for his first training session with the team, adding excitement to the club’s fresh start.
