Russian opposite Vita Akimova, born in 2002, is officially a new player for Numia Vero Volley Milano. After recovering from a long shoulder injury, Akimova will now be fully available to coach Stefano Lavarini for the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old trained with the team for the past six weeks before signing her contract. “I’m happy to finally be part of the group,” said Akimova. “I can’t wait to start and work at full speed with my teammates.”
Originally from Surgut, Akimova began her career with Dinamo-Ak Bars, debuting in 2019 and winning the Russian Super League that same season. She later played for Sparta Nizhny Novgorod and Dinamo Metar, before moving to France with Volero Le Cannet, where she shined in the CEV Champions League and was named MVP, Best Opposite, and Top Scorer of the French league.
In 2023, Akimova arrived in Italy with Igor Gorgonzola Novara, scoring 481 points in 28 matches and helping the team win the CEV Challenge Cup. After missing last season due to her shoulder surgery, she has now completed her recovery and is ready for a new challenge with Milano.
