RUS M: Possible “transfer bomb” – Zenit St. Petersburg wants Wilfredo Leon!?

Wilfredo Leon has a valid contract with Italian powerhouse Sir Safety Perugia for another season, but part of the contract seems to be a buyout option.  As it turns out, the club from St. Petersburg will try to use it and find the possibility of a joint agreement between all three parties. As in the case of Modena libero Jenia Grebennikov, they will try to find a way to redeem their contracts, of course with the consent and agreement of all parties involved. 

On the other hand, the Italian media (volleyball.it) and the Polish (sport.tvp.pl) report that the President of Perugia Gino Sirci said in an interview with TVPSPORT.PL – “Wilfredo Leon remains in Sir Safety Perugia. This is and will be his home. ” As sport.tvp.pl reported, some anonymous source revealed that the Russian club was very interested in Wilfredo Leon, but he reportedly turned down the offer because he want to stay in Perugia. 

If this transfer succeeds, Zenit will invest a lot of money and they should get a team that will dominate in Russia and also in European volleyball. But in the end, we have to wait and see if the volleyball star will leave Sir Safety Perugia and join Zenit St. Petersburg?
