The Turkey Women’s Volleyball National Team will play at the Olympic Games for the 3rd time in history.

Turkey

An exhausting semifinal duel against Poland left no wounds on the Turkish players as they swept Germany in the final of the 2020 European Women’s Olympic Qualifier in Apeldoorn, the Netherlands: 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-22).

Thus, the team coached by Giovani Guidetti snatched a ticket to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The European vice-champions joined 3 other national teams from the Old Continent that will compete in the Japanese capital – Italy, Russia, and Serbia. The Tokyo Games will be the 2nd participation of Turkey in the event (2012 and 2020). Despite the fact that both senior national teams of Germany played the final of the European Olympic Qualifier, neither of them managed to earn a spot in the Tokyo event.

Hande Baladın stood out in Turkey with 18 points, while Louisa Lippmann scored 17 for the losing side.

I am very surprised by this. I thought Germany would beat Turkey. With Turkey winning 3-0, I was very wrong.

Re: @Cjango
Turkey just got the silver medal at European championship couple of months ago and lost the gold medal match against Serbia in Final with 3-2 . They are doing great job at VNL in 2018 came second , and in 2019 came forth, Turkish club teams are constantly becoming European champions . So I am not sure why you were ‘very surprised’ with this result. It is a very normal result

Re: @Cjango
You are “surprised” because you do not know anything about volleyball. I have been exposing your biased and racist comments on this website. Admins should do something about this ignorant and racist person. COME ON!!!

Exactly. Turkish clubs acquire the bestest players from all over the world, hence their national team is very much exposed to playing with and against the cream of the crop. Congratulations team Turkey! well deserved win!
