Poland’s Jastrzębski defeated Stroitel from Belarus by a 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-14) in the first match of the season in the 2021 men’s Champions League. The encounter was valid for Day 1 of the qualification tournament – Pool C, hosted by Jastrzębski. Moroccan Mohamed Al Hachdadi scored 19 points for the winning side. Pavel Audochanka tallied 13 points for Stroitel.
In Pool B, Croatia’s OK Ribola Kaštela didn’t provide COVID-19 test results so their match against Pool B hosts CSM Arcada Galați has been canceled and the Romanian side was awarded three points. In case they undergo testing today and get negative results, Kaštela will be able to play their upcoming matches.
Croatia’s Mladost Zagreb, who were to host Pool A tournament, have withdrawn from the competition due to several positive results for coronavirus and all their matches have been canceled. The two other teams in this pool, Albania’s Erzeni Shijakut and Hungary’s Fino Kaposvár VC, will continue the competition.
