CWCH 2018 W: Eczacibasi won’t play for gold – Minas defeat the Turkish team to enter the final!

Minas Tenis Clube have managed to defeat Eczacibasi in the tie-break thriller to advance to the final of the Women's Club World Championship.

The Turkish side had a better start of the game, winning the first set and taking the lead 1-0 (25-22). 

In the second set, we saw a great battle, pushing both sides to the limits. However, the Brazilian team managed to win it by two points of advantage 26-24 to tie the score in sets.

It gave a confidence boost to Minas that simply smashed the rival in the third set to take the lead 2-1 (25-13). Even though Minas were leading almost all the time in the fourth set, Eczacibasi managed somehow to make a comeback and to force the tie-break.

In the tie-break, the Brazilian team again set the control and stopped the rival’s attacks to claim the spot in the final!

Natalia Pereira had an amazing game, scoring 31 points while Gabi contributed with 19 points. On the other side, Tijana Boskovic scored 27 points, Jordan Larson and Kim Yeon Koung added 20 points each.

Eczacibasi – Minas 2-3 (25-22, 24-26, 13-25, 25-23, 12-15)

Vakifbank – Praia Clube 13:00 CET
