Trentino have reached an agreement for the contract extension with their captain and setter Giannelli. Probably the greatest talent that was produced in Trentino youth sector will wear their jersey, at least, until 2023, continuing his already extraordinary career in the club that has discovered him and made him its own symbol.

A 22-year-old Giannelli is the only player in Trentino to win eight league titles between the youth sector and the first team and, in fact, the youngest player ever who made SuperLega debut and has worn the captain’s armband as a member of Trentino. So far, Giannelli made 243 appearances for the club from the Alto Adige region.

In addition to winning two national championship titles with Trentino, Giannelli claimed the 2018 FIVB Club World Championship and was named MVP of SuperLega and Best Setter of the CEV Champions League one time each, and Best Setter of the FIVB Club World Championship two times. While defending the colors of Italy national team, Giannelli was named Best Setter of the CEV European Championship, FIVB World League, and FIVB World Grand Champions Cup one time each.
