ITA W: Barbolini officially on bench of Scandicci

Italian women’s volleyball Championship side Savino Del Bene Scandicci announced they officially appointed Massimo Barbolini as the head coach.

One of the most successful Italian coaches in the last two decades, Barbolini, will be at the helm of Scandicci next season. The 55-year-old expert arrived at this club from their Serie A rivals Igor Gorgonzola Novara, where he spent the last three seasons and won two Italian Cups and the 2019 CEV Champions League.

On a club level, in total, Barbolini won four CEV Champions Leagues, one FIVB Club World Championship, three CEV Cups, five Italian Championships, 8 eight Italian Cups, and two Italian Super Cups. As the head coach of Italy women’s National Team, he won two CEV European Championships, two FIVB World Cups, and one FIVB Grand Champions Cup.

Individually, Barbolini was awarded Best Coach in Italian Championship four times and European Women’s Team Coach of the Year one time.
