Firstly, Jakub Bednaruk who replaced Vital Heynen (returned to Poland on the day of the match) at Poland national team bench in the bronze medal match against Brazil announced that he will give his medal for auction.

“Thank you to the Polish Federation, thank you to Vital Heynen for this chance. Everyone knew what to do and I tried not to ruin anything. The medal goes to the Fundacja Herosi (Heroes Foundation). Its place is there, not on my neck. Please bid for it properly. Two weeks ago I didn’t expect such an adventure,“ Bednaruk posted on Twitter after the bronze medal match.

After he announced the bidding, many gave their offers including Asseco Resovia Rzeszów President, journalists, ordinary people…

Poland national team captain Karol Kłos followed Bednaruk’s footsteps and will donate his jersey to charity by also putting it on auction.

“Hey, Fundacja Herosi and Jakub Bednaruk, what do you think, would someone bid for my VNL jersey? This one with the captain’s line won’t be useful for me anymore,“ Kłos wrote on Twitter as well.

Note that Fundacja Herosi is a public benefit organization in Warszaw that has been actively helping children with cancer since 2009.
