The team coached by Serbian Zoran Terzić and which has several world Women’s volleyball stars on its roster, like Bulgarian Dobriana Rabadzhieva, American Foluke Akinradewo, Turkish Gizem Karadayı, Brazilian Fabíola Souza… downed Aesch-Pfeffingen by 3-0 in series, winning Game 3 only in the tie-break (22-25, 25-17, 25-19, 15-25, 15-6).
Thus, Volero grabbed the 8th consecutive Swiss Championship title (the 12th overall) and also the 8th consecutive double crown (the Championship and a national Cup). In addition, Zürich team extended its home victorious run to 185 games. Volero suffered their last defeat on the local scene on January 29, 2012, to Sagres NUC.
