One team definitely raise itself to the level of a contender for the Italian Women’s volleyball Serie A1 in 2018/19.

Division 2 (Serie A2) side Golem Olbia engaged Japanese receiver Mami Uchiseto, who competed in all major tournaments with the Japanese National Team in the last two years. A 25-year-old athlete came to Olbia from the club in her home country, Hitachi Rivale.

Olbia aim high in the 2017/18 season, which means to achieve a promotion to the top division of the Italian volleyball. For that, besides Uchita, they hired players like a two-time CEV European Championship winner Jenny Barazza (Imoco Volley Conegliano), Romanian opposite Daiana Mureșan (Grot Budowlani Łódź, Poland) and Hungarian receiver Nikolett Soós (Linamar Békéscsabai RSE).
