FRIENDLIES M: Cruzeiro conquer Bolívar tournament, German side Bühl victorious in Italy

A multiple consecutive Men’s volleyball champions of Brazil, Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei, began the 2017/18 season with a trophy for their showcase.

In the finals of the „City of Bolívar Cup“ in Argentina, Sada Cruzeiro downed home side and Argentinean titleholders Personal Bolívar by a 3-2, partially 25-22, 25-14, 23-25, 19-25, and 17-15. Earlier in the tournament, Robertlandy Simón, Yoandy Leal & Co. beat Brazilian Superliga rivals Sesc RJ Vôlei (3-0) and another Argentinean side Ciudad Vóley (3-1).

The German Bundesliga club Volleyball Bisons Bühl defeated Italian Serie A1 side BCC Castellana Grotte 3-2 (21-25, 25-15, 17-25, 25-20, 25-12) to win the trophy in the tournament „Chapeau 2.0 Memorial Francesco Pagliuso“ in Lamezia Terme, Italy. Russian opposite Yuriy Kruzhkov highlighted Bühl with 20 points. Georgios Tzioumakas, the Greek newcomer from Wixo LPR Piacenza, scored 27 on the other side. In the match for the third place between the two Serie A1 rivals, Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia defeated Taiwan Excellence Latina 3-2.
