On the meeting between the league management and club representatives in Bologna, Serie A1 clubs have agreed to embrace the league format from the 2018/19 season, which will reduce the number of clubs competing from 14 to 12, putting a six-year blockage on making the competition reformation behind.

The committee of the clubs that will lead the implementation of the new format in detail within a couple of months has also been established in the meeting.
