In the very finish of Round 20 game against Kuzbass Kemerovo, Zenit coach Vladimir Alekno gave the chance to libero Aleksey Verbov to play as an outside hitter. The player himself revealed whose idea it actually was…

“As I understood, León asked the coach to leave me on the front row, this was his idea. It was interesting to me. My heart immediately started to beat, the adrenaline rushed, emotions overwhelmed me! I am glad that I managed to officially earn a point. It seems to me that it was the first in my career. Of course, as a libero, I won some points, but they were written in the statistics as rival’s mistakes. So it was a historic moment for me,” Verbov said to Business Online.

For the club of that caliber this is very unprofessional and disrespectful to the opponents.

Re: @Jose I am sure the only ones offended by this is you and the guy above my comment. C’mon man… This is garbage time like in basketball. No one’s mad when a couple of D-List Players gets playing time and earn some points. Get your chill on people. lol
