At the age of 54, Piero D’Angelo plays professional volleyball! The veteran setter was hired by an Italian Division 2 side (Serie A2 UnipolSai) Messaggerie Bacco Catania to help them avoid relegation.
Interestingly, D’Angelo jumped into the team from the office as he has been a sporting director of the club for two years. He was called as a replacement for an injured Argentinean setter Juan Finoli.
Catania contest in Serie A2 play-out and will face Club Italia Crai Roma in the last round.
