ROAD TO RIO M: China victorious in Asian derby, Japan powerless

After taking one set against the European champions, China have managed to score first win at the World Olympic qualification tournament in Tokyo.

They beat the host Japan in straight sets 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-23).

The Japanese team tried to stop the Chinese side in the second and third set but they simply couldn’t do it. They have to surrender in front of fully packed arena of their fans.

Shimizu (16 points) and Ishikawa (14 points) were the top scorers in home team. In China, two players had double digits as well: Dai (12 points) and Zhong (11 points).
