IstanbulBBSK-vs-Fenerbahce
In Istanbul derby, Fenerbahçe beat İstanbul BBSK by a 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-20) to move up from the sixth to the fourth place in the Efeler Ligi standings. At the same time, Fenerbahçe approached at a point behind in relation to İstanbul BBSK, who are at No.3, and tied with them in the win-loss ratio. The Frenchman Guillaume Quesque and Metin Toy made 10 points apiece for „Fener“, which is the number of points that İstanbul BBSK’s best scorer today, Serhat Coşkun, delivered as well.
Despite playing without Serbian outside hitter Nemanja Petrić and Cuban duo Raydel Hierrezuelo – Fernando Hernández, and not being led by the Serbian head coach Slobodan Kovač (his assistant Taner Atik replaced him), the defending champions Halkbank achieved an easy 3-0 win on the road against Beşiktaş. Interestingly, three Halkbank players shared the top scorer of the match title: the Brazilian Lucas Lóh, Burutay Subaşı (4 aces) and Bulgarian Velizar Chernokozhev, each notching 11 points.
