Many wondered why Atanasijević did not play more during preliminary round of this year’s World League. Some thought head coach Nikola Grbić was saving him for the pool stage finish and eventual Final Six, while others suspected he suffered an injury.
The second option was more accurate and member of Serbia’s NT has announced missing out the F6 due to injury. He revealed to our website what kind of injury it was.
„In consultations with the doctors and the coaching staff, I decided to skip the Final Six. I will definitely undergo surgery, but will most likely give support to the team at the final tournament. I struggle with this injury for a while. It’s tibia fracture on my left leg,“ opposite stated for WorldofVolley.
