Brazilian beach volleyball duo Evandro and Arthur Lanci clinched their third consecutive win in the Paris 2024 Olympics, defeating the Czech team Perusic/Schweiner 2-0 (21-18, 21-16) on Friday. With this victory, they topped Pool E and await their opponents for the Round of 16, set for Sunday.
Earlier, Evandro and Arthur had bested Austria’s Horl/Host and Canada’s Schachter/Dearing. Evandro, Brazil’s top scorer with 19 points, highlighted the importance of the match, stating, “Winning this game secured our top spot and boosted our morale. We played with strong serves and solid defense.”
Arthur Lanci, who scored 13 points, praised their team’s performance: “We’ve built confidence from the start. Despite knowing today’s match would be tough, Evandro’s serves and blocks, combined with my ball control, were key to our win. We’re playing with great energy and joy.”
