And, Cristian Savani is there too. Famous Italian player used free summer to come to Florence and watch the very ending of the World League 2014.
But, between games, he also found some time for WorldofVolley. Savani gave an exclusive interview for our website in which he talked about many things…
First of all, is it true that you are returning to Shanghai to play one more season?
“Yes it’s true, I am returning to Shanghai. I signed a new one-year contract 15 days ago” started Savani.
How would you describe your last season in China?
“We have played very good throughout the whole season, but we lost the last game against Beijing, and therefore lost the title. That is sport. I hope that next year we will win the Championship.”
After that you went in Qatar and played for Al Rayyan in Asian Championship and for Al Arabi afterward in Emir Cup. Are you satisfied with the time spent there?
“It was also a good experience. It was my first time in Qatar and first time that I played in Asian Championship. Again we played excellent for the whole tournament and then lost in the final game against Iranian Matin Varamin. But, Matin Varamin is really the best team in Asia. After that I won the Cup with Al Arabi and I can say that I am very happy about that.”
You are here in Florence watching games of Italy, do you miss the National Team?
“When I am in the Hall watching games, I really miss the court. I miss my friends. But, when I am at home with my family I don’t want to go through all of those things which National Team requires. I mean preparation period, competition… I want to stay at home and be with my family” concluded Savani.
