Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: “China team was very focused and was good at blocking and attack.”

Japan captain Saori Kimura: “China team is very tall. We need to make better defense, otherwise we have no chance to win.”

China coach Lang Ping: “I’m satisfied with the overall performance today. I have same expectation for the team in these two games. We need to learn from teams like Korea, Thailand and Japan for their defense in order to improve our performance, after all China is a very tall team. In addition, our players need to reduce fluctuating performance when facing difficult moments.”

China captain Hui Ruoqi: “3-0 was an unexpected result. We haven’t played against Japan since the World Grand Prix last year. Their strategy and players have changed a lot since then. Japan gave us challenges in the third set, but our teamwork led to our victory.”
