The International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) gave the right to the coaches to make changes in the initial squads of 12 players until August 3 even thought they were already announced.
After Marco Bonitta (Italy Women’s NT) and Raúl Lozano (Iran Men’s NT) who made last minute changes, Velasco did the same. He crossed out libero Facundo Santucci and put opposite José Luis González instead.
