In a super-exciting final of the 2019 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship held in Chinese Taipei, the reigning Iranian titleholders Shahrdari Varamin recovered from a 0-2 to 3-2 against the rulers of Japan, Panasonic Panthers: 20-25, 16-25, 25-22, 25-20, 16-14.

The Panthers were unbeaten until the gold medal encounter (preliminary round 2-0, Top 8 stage 3-0, wins in the quarterfinal and semifinal), even beating the rivals for the title in Top 8 (3-2). As for Varamin, they confirmed domination of Iran’s teams in the continental club volleyball as they were crowned 15 times since the Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship was introduced in 1999. Furthermore, the clubs from Iran won the last four editions of the competition.

According to media in Iran, at the end of the match, the Polish superstar Michał Kubiak playing for the Panthers got into an argument with Pourya Fayazi from Varamin that esclated and included several other players and coaches on both sides.

Qatari Al-Rayyan claimed bronze medal by beating Chennai Spartans from India by a 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-16).
