Kazakhstan’s Zhetysu Taldyqorgan and Vietnam’s VTV Binh Dien Long An are ready to clash for the first-ever AVC Women’s Champions League gold medal this Sunday. Both teams advanced with impressive straight-set victories in the semifinals at PhilSports Arena in Pasig, Philippines.
Zhetysu dominated Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima QminC 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-21), leveraging their superior blocking. Middle blocker Valeriya Yakutina led with seven stuffs and 12 total points, supported by outside hitters Yuliia Dymar and Karyna Denysova, who scored 12 and 14 points respectively.
In the other semifinal, VTV Binh Dien Long An avenged an earlier pool-stage loss by sweeping Beijing Baic Motor 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-21). Captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy spearheaded the victory with 17 points, while Vi Thi Nhu Quynh added 14.
The gold medal match kicks off at 19:00 local time (11:00 UTC), while Nakhon Ratchasima and Beijing Baic Motor will battle for bronze three hours earlier.
