Philippine Superliga: Record holder Klisura and Santiago push Foton to a step from securing No.1

Foton defeated winless Victoria Sports – UST Golden Tigresses in straight sets in the last week of the Grand Prix, partially 25-8, 25-22, 25-16, to settle at No.1 in the rankings with 7-1 and 20 points. But, they no longer depend on themselves to claim the top spot for the playoffs as their main contenders for No.1, F2 Logistics Cargo Movers and Petron Blaze Spikers, who also have a 6-1 record and 19 and 18 points respectively, are yet to play their last game in the Preliminary Round.

As for the match against UST, the Serbian Sara Klisura, who recently set the new Superliga record in number of points, and Alyja Santiago made 13 points apiece for Foton.

Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors made a comeback after being two sets down to defeat Cocolife Asset Managers, 3-2 (23-25, 22-25, 25-12, 25-23, 15-7). With this win, Sta. Lucia kept battling Iriga City Oragons to avoid finishing eighth-placed in the standings and facing the top seed in the playoff quarterfinals. Both sides have 2-5 and one more game to play but with Sta. Lucia having two points more compared to Iriga (7 points to 5)

The Ukrainian Bohdana Anisova topped Sta. Lucia with 35 points today.
