Cruzeiro were down 0-1 in sets against the underdogs Itapetininga but kept 100% output (3-0) in the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season: 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 25-19, 16-25, 15-13). Mostly thanks to Gabriel Cândido, who poured in 29 points, the home side provided tough resistance to Cruzeiro for which Argentinean Facundo Conte tallied 15 points.
Current champions EMS Taubaté Funvic, as well as Sesc RJ, confirmed their roles of the favorites in Round 3 and beat Pacaembu Ribeirão Preto and Denk Academy Maringá Vôlei, respectively, in straight sets. Taubaté remained in the first place in the charts with 3-0 and 9 points, not losing a single set so far. Sesc have exactly the same record and number of points collected, and also haven’t dropped a single set, but have slightly worst ration between the scored and conceded points.
