In the duel of the teams from the very top of the table of the 2019/20 Superliga Feminina regular season, Sesc dominated most of the game against vice-champions Praia, who attempted to react in the third set but failed to extend the match: 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 26-24). It was a delayed match of Round 7 due to Praia’s participation in the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship in China. In addition to remaining in the lead, Sesc inflicted the first defeat to Praia in the competition. With the result today, the team from Rio de Janeiro remained at the top of the charts with 9-1 and 26 points. Praia Clube are still fourth, having 6-1 and 18 points. Sesc opposite hitter Tandara Caixeta was the top scorer of the match with 17 points. American Nicole Fawcett tallied 14 for Praia.

One more Superliga team that took part in the Club World Champs played today, Itambé/Minas. The titleholders swept São Paulo FC/Barueri on the road to maintain their invincibility. Actually, Minas is the only team that didn’t suffer a single defeat in the league so far: 7-0 and 20 points. The team from Belo Horizonte came in second in the charts.
