Sesc-vs-Taubate

Until today, Taubaté didn’t feel the bitterness of a defeat in the 2019/20 Superliga Masculina regular season, recording eight wins. In fact, the champions hardly knew what it was like to lose a set (drop only one set) prior to Round 9 match against Sesc. But the team from São Paulo ran into a motivated Sesc on the road: 3-2 (25-18, 26-28, 25-19, 23-25, 15-13). With the result, the Rio de Janeiro team rose to fourth place in the charts with 6-3 and 18 points. Taubaté remained first with 25 points. For the team coached by Renan Dal Zotto, today’s big match should be an alert knowing it committed the huge number of unforced errors, giving away practically the whole two sets to the rivals: 45 errors compared to 30 of Sesc! Wallace Souza top-scored for the winning side with 21 points. Ricardo Lucarelli chipped in with 20 points for Taubaté, while Maurício Souza made a 91% attack (10/11).

After beating Sesi-SP in four sets at home, Sada Cruzeiro became the closest followers of the leaders Taubaté, having four points fewer in relation to them. Sesi remained third with 7-2 and 20 points.
