Funvic achieved an emotional comeback in front of their fans in the early match of the ninth round of the 2021/22 Men’s Superliga. After losing the first two sets, the titleholders reacted and beat São José with a score of 3-2 (16-25, 23-25, 25-23, 32-30, 15-13) to record the second successive win. The result to which they were led by Gabriel Santos (24 points) and Thales Hoss (83% reception; 18 digs, 50% excellent), made Funvic rise to fifth place, with 11 points (four wins and three losses).

In the away match of the seventh round, Fiat/Gerdau/Minas beat Sesi-SP. The vice-champions lost the first set but took the next three to reach their seventh victory in as many encounters and regain the lead of Superliga. Minas remained the only undefeated side in the competition, having collected 21 points.

Sada Cruzeiro swept Goiás Vôlei and took the second triumph in a row, the seventh overall. Thus, the Contagem side kept breathing down Minas’ neck, having only one point less than the leaders.
