Praia Clube fought back from a set down to defeat Vôlei Renata 3-1 (23-25, 26-24, 25-20, 25-14) on Monday (Feb 3), in the 15th round of the Brazilian SuperLiga. The match, held at Uberlândia Tênis Clube, saw Praia rise to third place with 31 points, edging ahead of Renata by one.
Outside hitter Maicon França shined with 25 points, earning the VivaVôlei Trophy, while Adriano Xavier led Renata with 22 points. The teams battled through a tight first set, with Renata edging it 25-23. Praia responded in the second, sealing it 26-24 after a late surge.
The third set was error-filled, but Praia capitalized on Renata’s slip-ups to win 25-20. In the final set, Praia sealed the victory with a commanding 25-14 finish.
