Sada Cruzeiro rallied past Itambé Minas 3-1 to take the opening match of their Superliga men’s semifinal series.
After dropping the first set, Cruzeiro responded behind Oppenkoski, who scored a match-high 29 points. Lucas Saatkamp Lucão added 14 points and delivered two decisive aces late in the third set.
Minas challenged throughout the match but lost setter Javad Karimisouchelmaei in the third set with a thumb injury. Leonardo Lukas led Minas with 20 points, Samuel Neufeld scored 18, and Djalma Moreira added 14.
Result: Sada Cruzeiro bt. Itambé Minas 3-1 (26-28, 25-22, 25-23, 25-20).
