Immediately after Brazil won the gold, the local journalists started asking Rezende whether he plans to remain the head coach of the men’s national team. There were even some rumors that Bernardinho might take over Japan men’s team… However, he did not want to comment about his future career.
Apart from coaching Brazil men’s national team, Rezende also leads Rexona Ades women’s team, which is the 4-time consecutive winner of the Brazilian Championship. Put those two jobs together and you will realize that Rezende practically does not have time to rest during the year, so his son Bruno Rezende stated that it might be time for his father to choose between women’s and men’s volleyball.
“As his son, I think it is time for him to change the pace of his life and to choose just one job. I hope that he would then have more time to rest and to live his life. I know very well how passionate he is about volleyball, but I think he should make a choice. I really do not know what are his plans, I just want that he makes the best choice for himself,” said Bruno Rezende.
