The World champions have beaten Caramuru Volei 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 25-21, 30-28). The match was valid for the fourth round of the championship.
Leozao from Caramuru Volei was the top scorer with 22 points. On the other side, the young setter Fernando Cachopa got the Viva Volei trophy for the best player of the game.
“Caramaru put a lot of pressure on the whole team, with a strong serve, lots of different play, defense, counterattacks and the fans here were too loud. We had some oscillations during the game. We are still learning,” says young setter Cachopa.
The head coach of Sada Cruzeiro, Marcelo Mendez, has praised the performance of the young setter.
“After Cachopa’s got on the court, we ran almost 100% successful attacks. I’m happy with the performance of our setter,” says Mendez.
Sada Cruzeiro have 5-1 score, while Caramuru are still seeking for the first victory in the domestic league.
